What is MPR?
People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) is the highest institution in Indonesia whose members are determined or elected through general legislative elections in parallel with the direct election of members of the DPR.

- The MPR has the authority to amend and enact the Constitution (Article 3 Verse 1)
- The MPR can only dismiss the president and vice president during their term of office based on the Constitution (Article 3 verse 3)
- If there is no vice president or there is a vice president vacancy, then in time 60 day, The MPR will hold a session with the aim of electing a vice president from 2 candidate nominated by the President (Article 8 Verse 2)
- The MPR is in charge of inaugurating the president and vice president (Article 3 Verse)
- When the President is fired, Stop, left, or unable to carry out their duties and obligations during their term of office, then he will be replaced by the vice president until the end of his term of office (Article 8 Verse 1)
- When the president & vice president quit, dismissed, left, or unable to perform his duties and obligations during the term of office at the same time, then the implementation of the duties of the presidency will be taken over by the Minister of Home Affairs, The Minister of Foreign Affairs and also by the Minister of Defense jointly. At least 30 the day after that, The People's Consultative Assembly will hold a session to elect a president and vice president from 2 presidential candidate pair (presidential candidate) and vice president (Cawapres) proposed by political parties / coalition of political parties that pair as presidential candidates & the vice presidents received the first and second most votes or votes in the previous presidential and vice presidential elections, until the end of his term. MPR function
