Calculation of Zakat
1. Tithes
Zakat Fitrah per person = 3,5 liter times the price of rice per liter. Example for example: the price of rice that we usually consume daily is Rp. 10.000 per liter, so zakat fitrah that must be issued / paid per person is Rp 35.000. Whereas when calculated in terms of weight, then zakat fitrah per person, that is = 2,5 kg x price of rice per kg.
2. Zakat Maal
Zakat Maal = 2.5% x the amount of property stored for 1 year. Calculate nisab zakat property / zakat times = 85 x is not the price (according to the per-gram market)
Example: Santi has a savings of Rp 100 million, deposit Rp 200 million, and a second house that is rented out for Rp 500 million, and has gold and silver worth Rp 200 million. Total assets owned Rp 1 billion. All property is owned by 1 last year.
For example price 1 gram gold Rp 600 thousand, then the nisab limit for the zakat maal 85 x Rp 600 thousand = IDR 51 million. Because Santi's wealth is more than the nisab limit, then Santi must pay zakat maal Rp 1 billion x 2,5% = Rp 25 million per year.
3. Income Zakat
To know your income zakat, subtract total income with debt. Then the result is multiplied 2,5%. The nisab of zakat income is 520 x price of staple food.
Example: Ilham receives a monthly salary of IDR 7 million. But have a bicycle installment debt of Rp. 1 million. Then, the remaining income was still Rp. 6 million. Moments Viral Characters Become Marked As Celebrities, average price of rice 1 kilograms IDR 10 thousand. Then, nisab zakat limit of the income 520 x Rp. 10 thousand = Rp 5,2 million.
Because the rest of your salary has exceeded the nisab limit, then zakat income must be (Required) paid is as much as Rp 6 million x 2,5% = Rp 150 thousand.
Law of Zakat
Evidence and Law of Zakat – Zakat has been made by Allah SWT as one of the joints of the building of Islam and in mentioning it is in line with the order of prayer, whose prayer is the highest banner of Islam, As his words ;
That means ; “And establish prayer and pay zakat” (QS. Al Baqoroh : 110)
Allah SWT severely threatens those who neglect to carry out this obligation, as his word :
وَالَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ وَلَا يُنْفِقُونَهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
That means ; “And those who keep gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of God, then tell them, (that they will get) painful torment” (QS. At Taubat : 34)
Ahnaf bin Qais said ; At a time, when I was in the group of the Quraysh, passed Abu Dzar R.A, and he said :
“Tell it to those who like to keep their wealth and do not like to give zakat, that they will be stabbed with hot irons on their backs so that their stomachs will come out of the iron, also pierced the neck until the iron came out of their foreheads“
With such a severe threat, Zakat is very important and includes religious affairs that must receive serious attention.
So, all muslims agree’ about the obligation of zakat, whoever denies the obligation of zakat, even though he knows about the obligation then he is a disbeliever. And whoever refuses to pay zakat, but still admits his obligations then he has sinned greatly.
Then, zakat law is obligatory for every Muslim who has met certain conditions. Because of that, It is also important that we know the secrets of zakat and its meaning, both from the outer and inner side. In this case there are several articles :

Payment of Zakat and its Conditions
Know that someone who wants to pay zakat, should take care of some things, as :
- Expediting its production when a year has passed (for zakat whose obligation is to wait for a year). For zakat fitrah , the obligation to fulfill it begins at sunset on the night of Eid, i.e. the end of the month of Ramadan.
- Shodaqoh or zakat cannot be transferred to another state, because "eyes” the poor pakirs in their country lead to their wealth.
- The property should be distributed to the rightful people, which includes eight groups. And of course in all countries there are four groups, namely: ; fakir, poor, debtors, and ibn sabil. In giving it does not have to be the same amount.
Obligations of People Who Give Zakat
1. Streamlining His Responsibilities
Hurry up from the time of duty. This is showing pleasure in obeying the command of Allah SWT by making the hearts of the poor happy.
Then, should take advantage of that good opportunity, that is, as long as there is something released, it should be implemented as soon as possible, because that is the nature of someone who is "friends with Angels".
How quickly a believer's heart changes, because of Satan's temptation. As the word of Allah SWT :
الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ
That means ; “Satan promises (scare) you with poverty and tell you to do evil (stingy)” (QS. Al-Baqoroh : 268)
So, other than humans "friends with Angels", there are also other friends who invite to evil.
2. Embrace the Practice
He should keep his practice a secret, because such a thing will be able to keep away from the nature of riya’ (show off or show kindness) and arrogance. Allah SWT says :
That means ; “And if you hide it and you give it to the poor, then hiding it is better for you“. (QS. Al Baqoroh : 271)
3. Showing Zakat
It is also permissible to display the zakat as long as it is with the aim that by doing so to encourage other people to imitate the practice..
But, must be taken care not to let anything cause riya’ or show off. In this regard Allah SWT said :
إِنْ تُبْدُوا الصَّدَقَاتِ فَنِعِمَّا هِيَ ۖ
That means ; If you show charity(in), then it is very good. (QS. Al Baqoroh : 271)
That means ; “and support them from the wealth we gave them, secretly or openly” (QS. Is Ra'd : 22)
4. Don't ruin the simplicity
Don't be damaged just like that by dragging (mention) and hurt, as the word of Allah SWT :
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُبْطِلُوا صَدَقَاتِكُمْ بِالْمَنِّ وَالْأَذَىٰ
That means ; “O you who believe!, do not remove (reward) your alms by mentioning it and hurting (recipient's feelings)” (QS Al Baqoroh : 264)
What is meant is Man (mention) what has been given or telling about it in front of other people or telling the person to whom it was given because there is alms to him so that pride arises.
And what is meant They will come (Hurt) is showing his charity openly in front of others or reproaching the recipient by saying that he is poor, or snap at him, mocking him because the person likes to ask.
5. Humble
Should feel that what he gives is very small from what he has, because if the gift is considered big, then it will allow the emergence of ujub’ (amazed by myself) even though this trait is a trait that destroys the sincerity of the heart and destroys goodness.
6. Choosing the Best Assets
The property that is zakat should be chosen the best, whom he loves so much, the best and the most beautiful, because Allah SWT is the Most Beautiful Being and has the Most Good and Perfect attributes and does not like to accept anything but good things, Allah SWT says :
That means ; “O you who believe!, provide for it (in the way of Allah, some of the results of your good work and part of what we bring out from the earth for you, and do not choose the bad and spend from it, even though you don't want to use those things other than by closing your eyes (because of necessity)“. (QS. Al Baqoroh : 267)
7. Finding the Right Person
In giving alms, should find people who can really clean his property. So don't come from the eighth group already (We) think enough, because in the generality of the group there is certainly specificity, that is six things :
a. People who fear Allah SWT.
b. The group of people who always pay attention and research about science (Religion)
c. People who really have deep knowledge in the science of Tawheed.
d. People who like to hide their needs, that is, do not like to express their shortcomings. Allah SWT said :
That means ; “People who don't know think they are rich because they keep themselves from begging. You know them by looking at their characteristics, they don't ask people urgently“. (QS. Al Baqarah Ayat 273)
e. People who have many families or are under siege or detention, for example due to illness and others. Allah SWT says :
That means : (Spend it) to the bound poor (by jihad) in the way of God; they can't (attempted) on earth; (QS. Al Baqoroh : 273)
f. Family members or close people who still have a family relationship with him.
