When these conditions are met then it will occur in a new assimilation in a society. This assimilation can occur in the cultural field, religion, political or social.

Purpose of Assimilation

The purpose of assimilation is simply a way of bringing together feelings of unity, action, and also the attitude followed by having the same interests and goals.

The driving factor for assimilation

The following are some of the factors that can lead to assimilation:

• There is an attitude of tolerance in every individual.
• There is an equal opportunity for every individual in an economic field.
• There is an attitude of mutual respect and also respect for other people who have different cultures.
• There is an open attitude from a domain group that exists in society.
• Have the awareness between groups to face an enemy from outside.

Assimilation Inhibitor Factors

The following are some of the factors that can inhibit assimilation:

• There is a minority community group that closes itself and isolates from the times.

• The emergence of dangdut music. this is the result of the combination of two music between traditional regional music and Indian music.
• The emergence of a new culture of adultery or premarital relations which should not be culture originating from Indonesia.
• The emergence of a culture about wearing bikinis on Indonesian beaches.
• There is a construction of a cathedral church. This is due to the influence of Western Europe which introduced Catholicism.
• Hinduism in Bali. It is one of the results of the combination of traditional animistic beliefs with Hinduism brought from India.
• The fusion of Betawi culture with China resulted in a new culture such as the Cokek dance and the lenong dance.
• The koko shirt is one of the typical clothing of the Chinese nation which is currently synonymous with male Muslim clothing in Indonesia.
• In the dress, there is also assimilation, that is, previously women in everyday life wore kebaya clothes, but at this time most of them will only be used when – certain times such as weddings or other official events.
