Fatwa 'Ulama
The following is the Ulama's fatwa related to the words/sentences above, that is, as such:
Ash Shaykh Muhammad 'Umar Baazmool, he was asked: Some people often say "Amen, wow” (means "may Allah grant", to you too") if someone says "Jazakallahu khairan” (May Allah reward you for your kindness."). Is it necessary to reply with these words?
Ash Shaykh Muhammad 'Umar Baazmool answered:
There are many narrations from the companions and from the Prophet SAW, and there are also stories that explain the actions of scholars.
In their history they say "Jazakalahu khairan".,” no one mentioned that they specifically answered / respond by saying "wa iyyaakum.”
Because of this, for those who adhere to the words "wa iyyaakum,” after any du'a, and did not say "Jazakallahu khairan".,” they have fallen into the new thing that has been added (for religion).
Al-Allamah Asy-Syaikh Al-Muhaddits Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbad hafizhahullah Ta'ala, someone asked him : is there any evidence that when replying with "wa iyyakum"?
He answered:
"There is no proof, but he should also say "jazakallahu khair"” (That means ; May Allah SWT reward you with kindness), that is to pray as he prays, although words like "wa iyyakum” as a ritual / following the speech "jazaakum", namely the words "wa iyyakum"” the meaning of which is "as we get/obtain goodness, you too", but when he said "jazakalallahu khair” and call the prayer in nash, no doubt that this is more important or more afdhal.”
Ash Shaykh Ahmad bin Yahya An Najmi, someone asked him : How is it legal to pronounce, "Thank you” for someone who does good to us?
He answered:
Those who do that have left the main thing, i.e. to say/say, “Jazaakallahu khairan (may Allah SWT reward you for your kindness".
