Meaning of Barakallah
Bless Allah (بَارَكَ اللَّهُ ) is a sentence that comes from Arabic, the sentence consists of two words "baaraka"” and "God". As for the meaning of "baaraka"” is a blessing, while “God” it means still God (do not change).
So, Barakallah (Arabic writing; بَارَكَ اللَّهُ ) it means God's blessing, or a blessing from God.
We can see the letter Ba’ in the Arabic writing above, Ba’ in the sentence it should be written / be read baarokallah. Because it's so common, it doesn't matter if it's written in Latin like that, but the Arabic writing must be correct.
Then what is meant by Barokah?? Some scholars explain the meaning that barakah/barokah (باركة) means Ziyadatul Khair (increase in goodness).
As for the meaning contained in the word Barakallah is ‘may you get blessings from Allah’, there are also those who mean 'may God bless'.
Because basically the word barakallah is a prayer that is said to Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala for someone with the hope that that person will be given an abundance of grace and guidance from Allah SWT in all things in his life..
Use of the Word Barakallah
It has become a very common thing that we hear people just say "barakallah", although the intention is to pray "may Allah bless you".
But if it is interpreted that way, then the sentence is incomplete because if the prayer sentence is addressed to someone, must have the additional word "fiik/ فيك ” and “lacquer / لَكَ ”, namely to be “God bless you (Arab; بارك الله فيك) ” and “barakallaahu lak (Arab; بارك الله لك) ”
Lalu apa arti Barakallahu Fiik dan Barakallah Lak? Actually the two words have the same meaning, namely "may Allah bless you". The difference lies in the meaning, which one ;
Barakallahu Fiik maknanya ; “May God bless a person in terms of the priorities he has, or because of his character, or something like that.”
Barakallahu Lak means ; "Praying blessings for him for what has just happened to him" (in the form of pleasure) or that which Allah has bestowed upon him.”
Keterangan Kalimat Barakallah Fiik :
Barakallah Fiika ( بَارَكَ اللَّهُ فِيكَ ) means "May Allah bless you"” This sentence is addressed to men.
Barakallahu Fiiki ( بَارَكَ اللَّهُ فِيكِ ) means "May Allah bless you"” This sentence is addressed to women.
However, the pronunciation is not too different either ending in fiika nor fiiki, read together fiik. So, don't be surprised if someone says fiika / fiiki, because this only clarifies the sentence he said, the meaning is addressed to whom the sentence is male or female.
Description of the sentence Barakallah Lak :
Barakallah Laka ( بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ ) that means "May God bless you” (to men)
Barakallahu Laki ( بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكِ ) that means "May God bless you” (to women).
But the way it is pronounced remains Barakallahu Lak, then don't be surprised if someone says Laka/Male, because this only makes it clear it's the same with Fiik earlier.
